This performance was one of the most memorable I have seen and I have attended a very many over the years! As a forty year plus fan of Leonard Cohen's words and music, I was more than eager to see what Malashock would do and which pieces he would choose to set to motion. I was not disappointed. Those I hoped to see were there. Several were given new meaning to me when seen through the Malashock lens..Thank you John and company for this gift!

The ten dancers were superb....there was no weak performance and each number drew us in. How I would love to be able to see this again with friends...that is the only regret I have about this short weekend schedule....this is the kind of show that needs to be seen, talked about and then shared again with new eyes. I called everyone I could think of after the performance to tell them of this gem, but would have loved to have another week so more could share this wonderful collaboration of Cohen and Malashock dancers.

Dear John and Company-
I would most definitely recommend "Shadow of Mercy" to friends. I enjoyed the each of the performances that your company put on.
However,...
I am a huge Leonard Cohen fan, going back 40 years (wow!)! What was missing for me was the emotional response that I get listening to one of his albums. The tears, the shivers, the tingling that a Cohen song can evoke in me. You selected songs from various albums to create an effect, but it wasn't necessarily the one Cohen wished for when he wrote that song and placed it in that album.
It was great hearing the songs again. I was impressed with how you created so much with, simply, a stage and lighting. Kudos to all of the dancers. The performances seemed flawless.
