Creating Choreography
Teacher: Rachel Goldman
Tuesday 4:30-6pm (Ages 9-14)
This class explores the excitement of dance making. Students will learn basic choreographic tools and ideas, and will apply these ideas to their own dances. We will look at stories, artwork, personal experiences, and improvisation as sources of inspiration for movement. The class is open to students enrolled in Contemporary I and II, and culminates in a studio showcase of student work. Enrolled students will be given the opportunity to cast their final pieces and run their own rehearsals in the Malashock Dance studio, just like professional choreographers.
