Warm Up and the Science Behind It with Nicole Rover

A daily warm up class with Nicole Rover!

Class will include time for discussion about why warm up is important and what to include in a warm up routine for yourself as well as exercise demonstrations.

Marisa Shimano offers a high energy modern class based in Horton technique.

Ballet For Modern Dancers with Emily Miller

"Ballet for Modern Dancers" approaches the perfect physics of ballet from a modern/contemporary perspective. Through combinations set to modern music, verbal cueing, zen philosophy, rhythm, and soul, this class is designed to allow each dancer to seek new availability in technique, divine stillness, volume in movement, and a full experience in the body. Wear what you want, come as you are. Let's rock out some plies and tendus.

Nutrition With Emily Velasquez

Join dancer and registered dietitian, Emily Velasquez to explore the basics of what a dancer's body needs to recover from a long rehearsal or leading up to a performance as well as nutrition basics along with some specific considerations for dancers, including practical tips and examples.

Anatomy and Injury Prevention with Katy Ewalt

Katherine Ewalt, MS, ATC, HHP, BCTMB, of PAARTS Wellness Center will be joining us to discuss anatomy and injury prevention for dancers.

Costume Design and Basic Sewing with Jemima Dutra

Join Malashock Dance's long time costume designer, Jemima Dutra, for an exploration of her process in creating costumes for dancers. Jemima will also cover basic sewing so that students are equipped to handle a backstage costume emergency repair.

This class includes a small sample kit for students to work with during the class.

Behind the Scenes with Molly Puryear and John Malashock

What does it take to get dancers on a stage with lights and music? Join Molly and John for a conversation about the behind the scenes steps, skills, and work that goes into creating a dance production.

Theater Essentials & Stage Management with Jay Sheehan

Join theater master Jay Sheehan for a morning of exploring the who's who and where's where of a theater. The class will also include the basics of stage management and conversation about possible opportunities in a theater for when you're not performing.
